Two vibrant days filled with meaningful encounters brought together winemakers, industry professionals, journalists, institutions, and wine enthusiasts in the heart of Naples for an immersive experience of tastings, masterclasses, cultural insights, and a deep connection with the Vesuvian territory.<\/p>\n

The event opened on 10 May with institutional greetings, followed by the Vesuvio Wine Forum, entitled “Vesuvius: A Premier Wine Tourism Destination”\u2014a panel discussion exploring the future of the territory and the role of wine tourism as a driver of cultural, economic, and local identity.<\/p>\n

The forum featured contributions from:
\nCiro Giordano<\/strong>, President of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Vesuvio;
\nRaffaele De Luca, President of the Vesuvius National Park Authority;
\nCiro Fiola<\/strong>, President of the Naples Chamber of Commerce;
\nLuciano Pignataro<\/strong>, journalist and author;
\nNicola Caputo<\/strong>, Advisor to the Minister for the Export and Internationalisation of the Agri-food Supply Chain and for European and International Agri-food Policies;
\nProfessor Maria Carmela Serluca<\/strong>, Regional Councillor for Agriculture of the Campania Region.<\/p>\n

The forum was moderated by Chiara Giorleo<\/strong>, wine critic and educator, who also led the masterclasses dedicated to the wines of the Vesuvian territory.<\/p>\n

The cultural programme hosted in the Capitular Hall also attracted strong attendance, including the masterclass “Four Quadrants, Four Glasses: A Journey Through Our Culinary Excellence.” The session featured Salvatore Schiavone<\/strong>, Director of the ICQRF Campania\u2013Molise and author of At the Table with Culinary Arts in Theatre and Cinema, alongside Francesco Maria Span\u00f2<\/strong>, Director of LUISS University in Rome and author of In the Beginning There Was Stockfish. The discussion was moderated by Chiara Giorleo<\/strong> together with Luciano Pignataro<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Throughout the two-day event, visitors had the opportunity to take part in a sensory journey featuring guided tastings and direct encounters with the producers of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Vesuvio DOP<\/strong>, gaining deeper insight into the region\u2019s indigenous grape varieties, volcanic soils, and the diverse expressions of its winemaking tradition.<\/p>\n

The masterclasses dedicated to Vesuvius white, ros\u00e9, and red wines were also highly appreciated, as was the Vesuvius\u2013Etna <\/strong>Dialogue\u2014a comparative tasting exploring two volcanic wine regions and their distinct winemaking identities, once again led by Chiara Giorleo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Complementing the tasting experience were light lunches featuring traditional local specialties, along with guided tours of Underground Naples, further strengthening the connection between wine, culture, and the area’s rich historical heritage.<\/p>\n

With more than 114 members, including grape growers, wine producers, wineries, and bottlers, the Consorzio Tutela Vini Vesuvio continues its mission to promote one of Italy\u2019s most distinctive wine-growing regions, telling the story of Vesuvius through its wines, its people, and its extraordinary land.<\/p>\n
