From 11 to 13 June, the Consorzio Tutela Vini Vesuvio DOP took part in DMED – the Mediterranean Diet Expo, one of Italy’s leading events dedicated to promoting the Mediterranean lifestyle, sustainability, and the country’s outstanding food and wine heritage.
The fifth edition of the event took place at the Naples Maritime Station, bringing together producers, institutions, industry professionals, researchers, and visitors from across Italy for a rich programme of talks, tastings, workshops, hands-on activities, and in-depth discussions celebrating the cultural and culinary heritage of the Mediterranean.
Today, DMED stands as a leading platform for promoting the Mediterranean Diet, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, while championing a model based on quality, biodiversity, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development. The 2026 edition placed Peace at the heart of the event, embracing it as a fundamental value that fosters meaningful relationships between people, communities, and territories.
In this context, the Consorzio Tutela Vini Vesuvio had the opportunity to showcase the identity of Vesuvio DOP wines, authentic expressions of a unique territory shaped by its distinctive volcanic soils, favourable microclimate, centuries-old winemaking traditions, and rich cultural heritage.
Through guided tastings and meaningful exchanges with industry professionals, wine enthusiasts, and visitors, the Consortium helped strengthen the connection between wine, landscape, and Mediterranean food culture, highlighting the vital role that quality winemaking plays in preserving the territory and supporting the sustainable development of local communities.
Participation in DMED 2026 provided an important opportunity for visibility and dialogue, reaffirming the Consortium’s commitment to promoting Vesuvio DOP wines at leading events dedicated to agri-food excellence, sustainability, and the culture of the Mediterranean.
